Clocks are one of the oldest and most interesting human inventions. They are everywhere today in our lives. But 500 years ago they were a luxury for Lviv citizens. The big cities were compared not only in economic development but also with the number of clocks. They indicated the high status and prestige of the city.
Lviv was always famous for having several city clocks – the Galician Gate, the Town Hall, the watches on the tower of the Jesuit Church, the Bernardines and all the inhabitants were proud of it. Each of them has its own unique history, combined with human destinies who took care of them and with the fate of Lviv itself.
During this excursion you will have an opportunity to move to those times when citizens from the whole town collected money for the clock, we will get acquaintance with the most famous Lviv clockmakers. Also, we will plunge into the mysterious legends of Lviv time, visit the clock manufactory and see Lviv heartbeat.
